We wanted to centralize all information about us on the website however, due to technical inexperience and lack of funding we have not been able to integrate social media RSS feeds, blogs and seasonal creative refresh in order to keep our audience engaged and promoting call-to-action. We have 3 main objectives for our website; 1) Generate donations 2) Volunteer Sign-up 3)Grantee Acquisition
1 FUR 1 is 100% volunteer based non-profit focused purposeful animal-assisted programs! By awarding grants to other charities, which may only operate in a specific community or region, we bring operational capabilities and opportunity to sustain and grow animal-assisted programs. We support registered non-profits working in three key areas:
Service Dog programs - These include programs involved with service dogs, guide dogs, hearing dogs, and medical alert dogs.
Animal-Assisted Therapy programs - These include organizations that specialize in animal-assisted therapies designed to improve human physical, social, emotional, or cognitive function.
Animal-Assisted Activity programs - These include programs that enhance the quality of participants’ lives by providing opportunities for educational or recreational animal-assisted activities.
If we are able to resolve our website issues we will be able to do MORE WORK IN OUR COMMUNITY as well as our nation. We have grantees lined-up but not enough resources. If we had a new website that meets our three objectives and simplified the digital operation( such as:function, look & feel, analytics, simplify updates to keep the site fresh) we will be able to launch the following Chicago programs in 2015:
- training of a guide dog
- reading program (with therapy dogs) for economically disadvantage children
- Community Issue
